“My name is Mike Muttiah and I have been coaching international students into Tier 2 jobs in the UK since 2013. During my career I’ve coached over 500 clients and have spoken to more than 25,000 international students at events throughout the UK.
I graduated from the University of Warwick. I had 5 years’ management experience before starting work as a coach and mentor. My attention to detail and the results I achieved with my clients saw me promoted to Coaching Manager and then Chief Operating Officer at a leading UK career coaching company.
I worked with this company from 2013-2018, writing their material and designing coaching systems that allowed hundreds of their clients to go on to top jobs at a wide range of Times 100 Best Companies, mainly in the accounting, professional services, finance and banking industries. These companies included PwC, Deloitte, KPMG, Ernst & Young, Accenture, BDO, Grant Thornton, BAE Systems, the Financial Conduct Authority, the Bank of England, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, J.P. Morgan, Citi, and Shearman & Sterling, amongst others.
I became recognised as an expert within the UK career coaching industry and contributed to the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC), lobbying the UK government for increased rights for international students and access to a post-study work visa. I’ve also appeared on Chinese TV.
In 2018 I left to pursue my own business and returned to coaching in 2019, helping several Chinese companies to create and launch their coaching products. I decided to start Job Ready English so that international students had access to the bespoke coaching services they need to succeed in the competitive UK job market.”

Why I love what I do
Every client is different. They are a beautiful problem waiting to be solved. For me, there’s no greater reward than allowing a gifted individual to realise their full potential.
Since I was a boy, a child of immigrant parents from Sri Lanka and Vietnam, I have been fascinated with psychology, performance, and decisions.
Why do so many incredibly talented and bright international students come to the UK, and so few capture the ultimate prize of a dream career here?
Since 2013, I have shared the joy of hundreds of clients who realised their dream.
I love coaching because I get to change people’s lives forever.
